Home/Industries/Remodeling

Fewer tire-kickers, more signed remodels.

In remodeling, one signed kitchen or addition can carry a month. We build AI that qualifies leads before anyone drives out, follows design proposals through the long decision, answers homeowner status questions without pulling in your project manager, and makes sure change orders get billed. It works inside Buildertrend, JobTread or whatever you already run jobs in.

Where remodeling margin disappears

Sales visits with no real budget

An owner or estimator drives across town, spends two hours walking a kitchen and sketching ideas, then learns the homeowner expected a fifth of what the job costs. Without qualifying budget, timeline and decision makers first, your most expensive hours go to people who were never going to sign.

Proposals that go quiet for weeks

Remodeling decisions take time. Homeowners collect bids, talk to lenders and wait until everyone in the house agrees. If the only follow-up is an occasional call from a busy owner, the proposal fades and the firm with steadier contact builds the project you designed.

Change orders done on a handshake

Mid-project, the homeowner asks for an upgraded tile, another outlet or a moved window, and the lead carpenter agrees on the spot. Without a quick written change order, the work gets done, the paperwork never does, and the argument over the final invoice eats both margin and goodwill.

Project managers stuck on status calls

Homeowners living through a remodel want to know what happens tomorrow. Every text asking when the cabinets arrive pulls your project manager away from scheduling subs and checking quality, and missed updates turn small delays into tense conversations, even when the delay is nobody's fault.

$518Bprojected homeowner improvement spending

In its April 2026 remodeling outlook, Harvard's Joint Center for Housing Studies projected annual homeowner spending on improvements would reach $518 billion by the end of 2026.

$9,000a month in change orders that actually get billed
  • 6 projects in progress each month
  • 2 small change orders per project that never reach the invoice
  • $750 average change order

Two ways AI pays for remodelers and general contractors. We build both.

Grow revenue

Speed to Lead

Qualify before you drive

Inquiries from your website, Houzz, Angi or referrals get a fast, friendly reply that asks about project type, budget range, timeline and who makes the decision. Serious homeowners book a consultation on your calendar, and the rest get a polite next step, so your design hours go to projects you actually want.

Quote Follow-Up

Follow-up paced for long decisions

Each open proposal gets a sequence paced for a remodel, not a service call: a recap of the design and scope, photos of comparable projects you have finished, answers about permits and timelines, and patient check-ins over several weeks. When a homeowner reengages, your salesperson gets the full context before picking up the phone.

Review Requests

Reviews and referrals at the finish

The best referrals in remodeling come from a proud homeowner showing off a finished kitchen. At the final walkthrough, the system sends a review request and a referral ask in your voice, routes any concern to the owner first, and checks in at the one-year mark about the next project.

Grow margins

Customer Documentation

Change orders written on site

When a homeowner asks for something new, the lead carpenter or project manager describes it by voice and AI drafts a priced change order from your cost book, ready for e-signature before the work starts. Daily logs and photos attach to the job, so the final invoice and any later question rest on a clear record.

Customer Service Assistant

Updates without the phone calls

Homeowners can text a question and get an answer pulled from the schedule and notes in your project software: when the plumber returns, whether the countertop template is booked, what they need to choose by Friday. Anything about money or a problem goes straight to your project manager with the thread attached.

Back-Office Automation

Selections and subs kept on track

Remodels stall when a homeowner has not picked a faucet or a sub was never confirmed. We automate selection deadlines, sub confirmations and material order reminders against the project schedule, flagging anything at risk a week out. Your office stops discovering problems the morning the crew pulls up to the house.

A partner that works like a good contractor

We respect the long sale

A remodel sale can take months and several meetings. We build qualification and follow-up around that reality, so your team spends time with serious homeowners and nobody feels chased. Every message sounds like your firm, not a generic marketing drip.

Your project software stays the hub

Buildertrend, JobTread and Houzz Pro already hold your schedules, selections and budgets. We build on top of the accounts you own and keep every record there, so your team does not learn a new tool and your data stays yours.

Fixed price, like your best contracts

You would not start a remodel without a signed scope, and we work the same way. Every build has its price, scope and timeline in writing, and we only propose one that can return 300% in year one based on your lead flow and job sizes.

Planning season, building season, holiday deadlines

Remodeling follows a planning rhythm more than a weather one. Homeowners research over the winter, sign contracts in late winter and spring, and want kitchens and baths finished before the holidays, which jams fall schedules. Exterior work and additions crowd the warmer months. The systems flex with it: lead qualification and proposal follow-up carry the winter planning season, homeowner updates and change order capture take the load during peak building months, and dashboards show early whether your backlog will carry the slower stretch.

Inside the software you already run.

Remodelers and general contractors usually run Buildertrend, JobTread or Houzz Pro for schedules, selections and client portals, QuickBooks for job costing and lead sources like Houzz and Angi, and we build inside those.

Every system lives in your own accounts. We never host or store your customer data.

Where we usually start.

Remodeling firms win or lose margin long before demo day. Qualifying leads protects your estimator's time, and patient proposal follow-up turns more design hours into signed contracts. It is the build with the clearest first-year return, and it sets up change orders and homeowner updates as the natural next step.

2systems in one Operating Build

Planned together, priced together, fixed in writing.

Find out what you're leaving on the table.

Twenty minutes. We trace how a lead and the work move through your business and show you where the money leaks. No slides. No pitch.

  • You walk us through how leads come in and who handles them.
  • We name the one or two leaks costing you the most.
  • If a build makes sense, you get a fixed quote in writing. If not, you leave with the advice anyway.

Free video call. No pitch. We reply with times to talk.

Remodeling owners ask.

Does it connect to Buildertrend?

Yes. Buildertrend is the project tool we see most in remodeling, along with JobTread and Houzz Pro. We use the access your account allows to read schedules and selections, log messages and create records. Where your plan falls short of what a build needs, the proposal says so before you sign.

Will homeowners know they are talking to AI?

We recommend being upfront, and most homeowners are fine with it as long as answers are fast and correct. The assistant introduces itself as your firm's assistant, answers what it can from the job record and hands anything personal, financial or delicate to your team.

Can it help with design-build sales?

It can qualify inquiries, book design consultations, collect photos and measurements ahead of the first meeting, and follow up on design agreements over the weeks a homeowner takes to decide. Your designer and salesperson still run the meetings. The system keeps anyone from falling through the cracks between them.

How does it handle change orders?

Your lead carpenter or project manager describes the change by voice or text. AI drafts the change order with pricing from your cost book and the schedule impact, and it goes to the homeowner for signature in your project software. Nothing is sent until someone on your team approves it.

We use a lot of subcontractors. Does that matter?

It helps. Confirming subs, sending them schedule changes and collecting their photos and invoices is a large share of what we automate for general contractors. Your subs simply get a text or an email, with no new software or accounts to set up on their end.

What does it cost?

Builds start at $5,000, with price, scope and timeline fixed in writing, and our price guide shows the ranges. Because remodeling tickets are large, a few extra signed projects or billed change orders go a long way toward the 300% first-year test, and we check that against your numbers on the free call.
