Home/Service areas/South Carolina/Myrtle Beach and the Grand Strand, SC

More than 20 million visitors on 60 miles of beach. A higher booking rate on every no-cool call.

That gives contractors two economies in one market: condo turnovers along Ocean Boulevard and growing neighborhoods inland toward Conway. Our job is wiring AI into the software Grand Strand firms already pay for, so neither side gets dropped.

Two Grand Strand markets: visitors and year-round residents

Tourism still sets the tone. Accommodation and food services account for 23.7 percent of Horry County employment and retail for another 18.2 percent, and Myrtle Beach has roughly 425 hotels. The city protects that rental stock on purpose: an ordinance covering 114 blocks east of Kings Highway bars converting short-term rental buildings into long-term leases. So oceanfront condos stay in the vacation pool, changing guests all season. For cleaners, AC techs and handymen, the client is often a property manager with a family arriving at four and no patience for voicemail.

Year-round households are the other half. The metro grew from about 354,000 people in 2020 to about 428,000 in 2025, and U.S. News named Myrtle Beach the fastest-growing place in America three straight years through 2023. Retirees power much of that. The metro's 65-and-over population rose 6.3 percent in a single year, the fastest of any U.S. metro, and seniors now make up more than a quarter of residents. Conway, the county seat, grew 23.3 percent from 2020 to 2025. Those homeowners want a roofer, an AC company and a pest service they can call for years.

Vacation rental cleaning

Turnover cleaning on the Strand is a race against check-in. Because rental buildings inside the oceanfront overlay cannot switch to long-term leases, those condos flip guests from Can-Am Days in March through the fall. One missed turnover costs a property manager a refund and a bad review, and the cleaning company usually hears about it last. Online Booking lets managers lock in turnovers by unit and date, and the Customer Service Assistant handles late-checkout and extra-towel texts while your crews keep working.

Roofing and storm repair

Hurricane Ian made landfall at Georgetown on September 30, 2022, with gusts of 60 to 80 mph along the Grand Strand, and every pier from Pawleys Island to Cherry Grove was damaged. A storm like that drops a wave of inspection requests on a roofing office within days. Speed to Lead sends an instant reply to every form and voicemail while estimators are up on roofs, and Customer Documentation stores the photos and notes so the homeowner can review damage and approve a repair from anywhere.

AC repair and replacement

Average summer highs here run from 83 to 91 degrees, and a rental condo without cooling in July becomes an emergency for the owner, the guest and the manager all at once. Inland, a fast-growing senior population counts on systems that hold up through August. Call Scoring shows which dispatchers turn no-cool calls into booked visits and which let them drift, and Review Requests turn each repaired unit into the kind of rating a newly arrived retiree checks before choosing a company.

A 30-person AC company in Conway. An example, worked step by step.

  1. Average summer highs on the Grand Strand run from 83 to 91 degrees, and from June through August, about 13 weeks, rental condos and retiree homes call the moment a unit quits.
  2. Say dispatchers handle 100 no-cool calls a week in that stretch and book 60 of them.
  3. Lifting the booking rate by 10 points means 10 more visits a week, or 130 over the summer, at an average of $400 a visit.
  4. Call Scoring shows which calls slipped and why, and closing that 10-point gap adds $52,000 a year.

The 83 to 91 degree summer highs are the Grand Strand's climate averages; call volume, booking rate and visit price are round example inputs, not a promised result.

From Can-Am Days to hurricane season on the Strand

Visitors print the calendar here. Can-Am Days has brought Canadian spring breakers every March since 1951, Bike Week has drawn as many as 200,000 visitors in May, and the Sun Fun Festival opens summer in early June. Rental turnovers, AC calls and pest work all climb with those crowds. Hurricane season overlaps from June 1 to November 30, and Ian showed that a late-September storm can rewrite a roofer's entire fall. Winter slows the oceanfront, yet inland calls keep coming from a population in which seniors outnumber one in four residents.

Where Myrtle Beach and the Grand Strand firms usually start.

Peak season on the Grand Strand repeats the same requests hundreds of times: another turnover, another no-cool call, another question about when the crew arrives. Online Booking and the Customer Service Assistant absorb that volume without seasonal office hires, and Review Requests grow the ratings that newcomers and retirees compare before they call anyone.

3systems in one Operating Build

Planned together, priced together, fixed in writing.

Find out what you're leaving on the table in Myrtle Beach and the Grand Strand.

Twenty minutes. We trace how a lead and the work move through your business and show you where the money leaks. No slides. No pitch.

  • You walk us through how leads come in and who handles them.
  • We name the one or two leaks costing you the most.
  • If a build makes sense, you get a fixed quote in writing. If not, you leave with the advice anyway.

Free video call. No pitch. We reply with times to talk.

Myrtle Beach and the Grand Strand owners ask.

Most of our work comes from Grand Strand property managers. Can Online Booking handle turnovers unit by unit?

Yes. We can set it up so a manager picks the building, unit, checkout time and service type, then sees only the crew slots that actually fit. Confirmations and changes go to your schedule automatically, and the manager gets a text when the unit is ready, which cuts most of the back-and-forth calls in July.

Black Glove is in Charlotte. How do you run a build for a Conway or North Myrtle Beach company without coming here?

We are based in Charlotte and handle all Grand Strand work remotely. The first step is a no-cost consultation over video, and if a build fits, we set it up by screen share inside the accounts you already pay for. No one travels to your shop, and everything we build stays in your accounts, under your logins.

After a storm like Ian, can AI help sort the flood of roof and damage requests?

It can take the first pass. Speed to Lead answers every inquiry, collects the address, photos and a short description of the damage, and flags the urgent ones, such as active leaks or a tree on the house. Your estimators then work through a ranked list rather than returning calls in the order they happened to arrive.

A lot of our customers are retirees who moved here recently. Will they use automated texts and booking?

Many will, and nobody is forced to. We write messages in plain language and in your company's voice, keep booking to a few taps, and make sure a real person on your team is always one reply away. Customers who would rather call still reach your office the way they always have.

Can we get through Bike Week and Sun Fun season without hiring extra office staff?

That is a common reason Strand firms look at AI. The Customer Service Assistant answers routine status and pricing questions around the clock, and Back-Office Automation handles confirmations, invoices and job updates. Your office staff then spend the busiest weeks on the calls that need a person, rather than on repeat questions.

What does it cost?

Builds start at $5,000. Your price depends on how many systems you need and how many tools they connect to, and it is fixed in writing before we start. The free price guide shows the full ranges.
