Brunswick is NC's fastest-growing county. First pick of Leland's new maintenance plans.

Wilmington is now a three-county metro of roughly 493,000 people. Brunswick County is the fastest-growing county in North Carolina, and visitors to New Hanover spent a record $1.2 billion in 2025. Black Glove builds AI into the systems Wilmington, Leland and Hampstead service companies already run, so new-resident inquiries and beach-season calls get a reply before a competitor picks up.

Where the Cape Fear region's growth is landing

Brunswick County grew 24 percent between April 2020 and July 2024, faster than any other county in the state, and its population has more than doubled since 2004. Most of that growth sits on the county's east side near Wilmington. Leland, now Brunswick's most populous town, reached an estimated 35,700 residents in 2025. Pender County grew 16 percent over the same period, and Hampstead along US-17 went from about 4,100 people in 2010 to more than 7,000 in 2020. Each of those new rooftops will eventually need a roofer and an HVAC tech.

The core economy reaches well past the beaches. Novant Health is the biggest employer, followed by the county schools and UNC Wilmington, with GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy and Corning among the large private names. Cinespace Wilmington operates the largest film and television studio complex in the country outside California. Tourism still counts: New Hanover visitor spending supported 7,250 jobs in 2025, and Brunswick drew more than $1.24 billion of its own. Many Leland newcomers arrived from New York, New Jersey and Virginia, so they show up with no trusted names and choose whoever answers and looks credible online.

What we fix for Cape Fear trades before beach season

HVAC

Relative humidity in Wilmington averages about 78 percent in July and 81 percent in August, the city logs roughly 43 days a year at 90 degrees or hotter, and heat indexes can pass 100. A system that quits in August is an emergency, and homeowners dial down a list until somebody picks up. Thousands of new homes in Leland and Hampstead also put first maintenance agreements up for grabs. Speed to Lead catches that no-cooling call in minutes, and Review Requests turn each repair into a fresh public review.

Roofing

Florence came ashore near Wrightsville Beach on September 14, 2018, and dumped more than 23 inches of rain on the city in four days. Most Wrightsville Beach homes came away with lost shingles or broken decks, and a few lost whole roofs. After a storm like that, roofers here see inspection requests hit all at once, followed by months of decisions that move at insurance speed. Estimates go out and then go quiet. Quote Follow-Up keeps each one alive, and Customer Documentation stores the photos an adjuster will want.

Beach rental cleaning

New Hanover collected more than $25.5 million in room occupancy tax in 2025, a measure of how many paid nights the beach towns host. Cleaning companies working rentals in Carolina Beach, Kure Beach and Wrightsville Beach live inside tight windows between checkout and the next arrival, and a single missed handoff leaves a guest at an unready unit. Back-Office Automation ties crew schedules to booking changes as they happen, and a Customer Service Assistant answers routine owner and guest questions after hours.

An eight-truck HVAC company in Leland. An example, worked step by step.

  1. Leland reached about 35,700 residents in 2025 and Brunswick County grew 24 percent from 2020 to 2024, so thousands of newer homes are choosing their first HVAC company now.
  2. Say your shop fields 40 maintenance plan inquiries a month from those neighborhoods, and a quarter of them get a slow reply and sign with someone else.
  3. That is 120 lost members a year, and with each member worth about $500 a year in tune-ups and repairs, the slow replies cost $60,000.
  4. Speed to Lead replies within minutes, and keeping 60 percent of those members holds on to $36,000 a year of recurring work.

Leland's population and Brunswick's growth rate are published state and Census figures; inquiry volume, the slow-reply share and member value are example inputs, not a projection for your shop.

Storm months, summer crowds and an April festival

The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 through November 30, and in Wilmington most tropical activity shows up from August to early October. August and September are also the wettest months, each averaging more than eight inches of rain. Summer stacks the beach crowds on top of the heaviest air conditioning load of the year. April belongs to the Azalea Festival, with garden tours, a parade and fireworks. Winters stay mild, with January highs in the mid-50s, so roofing, painting and lawn crews rarely sit idle for long.

Where Wilmington firms usually start.

Growth here means a constant stream of homeowners with no history with any local firm. Speed to Lead reaches them first, Online Booking turns that reply into a scheduled appointment without phone tag, and Review Requests build the stack of recent reviews that someone new to Leland or Hampstead uses to decide.

3systems in one Operating Build

Planned together, priced together, fixed in writing.

Find out what you're leaving on the table in Wilmington.

Twenty minutes. We trace how a lead and the work move through your business and show you where the money leaks. No slides. No pitch.

  • You walk us through how leads come in and who handles them.
  • We name the one or two leaks costing you the most.
  • If a build makes sense, you get a fixed quote in writing. If not, you leave with the advice anyway.

Free video call. No pitch. We reply with times to talk.

Wilmington owners ask.

How does a Charlotte AI firm work with a Wilmington business?

Entirely by video. We start with a free video call covering how leads, quotes and schedules move through your company. If we build, the work happens over screen share in accounts you own, and your team is trained on screen. Nobody travels to Wilmington or anywhere else outside the Charlotte metro, and your customer data stays in your systems.

Can the system keep working when a hurricane closes our office for a few days?

The pieces that live in cloud software can keep answering texts, web forms and booking requests while your office is shut, as long as those providers stay online. We would write storm-week messages ahead of time so customers get honest timelines instead of silence. We cannot guarantee any provider's uptime, so we plan around outages instead of promising against them.

Our crews work both sides of the Cape Fear River. Can lead routing handle that?

Yes. Speed to Lead and Online Booking can sort requests by service area, so a Leland job lands with the crew working Brunswick County and a Monkey Junction job goes to the team south of downtown. Bridge traffic and drive time shape the schedule here, and we build those rules from how your dispatcher already thinks about the map.

Does AI make sense for a cleaning company that lives on summer rentals?

If the volume is real, yes. Summer is when your team has the least time for the phone. A Customer Service Assistant can field routine questions about check-in times and supplies, and Back-Office Automation can push booking changes straight into crew schedules. In the off-season, the same setup handles fewer and larger deep-clean jobs.

Which system matters most when you are growing as fast as Brunswick County?

Usually whichever one protects new leads. When a county adds people this quickly, response time tends to be the bottleneck, not demand. Speed to Lead and Online Booking are common starting points, and an SOP and Process System build helps once new hires join faster than anyone can train them. The free call tells us which fits your shop.

What does it cost?

Builds start at $5,000. Your price depends on how many systems you need and how many tools they connect to, and it is fixed in writing before we start. The free price guide shows the full ranges.
